Happy Winter!  I know at times I want to simply hang inside where it is warm and cozy.  But, there really is a lot to do during winter and the holiday season.

Here are a few fun Things To Do in Howard County and surrounding areas that I found that might be for you to enjoy.  Maybe get together with family and friends and have some fun!

Best Christmas Lights to Go See

1.  Merriweather Symphony of Lights - Nov. 24 - Jan. 1 - Columbia:  The Symphony of Lights has been a time-honored Howard County holiday tradition enjoyed by many for over 25 years. Set in historic Merriweather Post Pavilion and made up of more than 300,000 bulbs, this family-oriented spectacular is a dazzling display of larger-than-life animated and stationary holiday light creations. Learn more here

2.  Miracle on 34th Street - Nov. 26- Jan. 1- Hampden, Baltimore: We Have - The Shops - The Food - The Drinks - and The Shopping - and last but not least - The Lights.  Learn more here

3.  Lights on the Bay - Nov . 20- Jan. 1 - Sandy Point: Driving through “Lights on the Bay” at Sandy Point State Park has become a tradition for many families for the past decade. The Lights on the Bay display is a scenic drive along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay with more than 60 spectacular animated and stationary displays illuminating the roadway.  Learn more here

1.  It’s a Wonderful Life - Nov. 11- Jan. 15, Toby’s, Columbia: Based on the beloved 1946 film, this musical faithfully follows George Bailey’s life from his childhood dreams to his midlife disappointments and beyond, as we all take a journey to discover whether his life has mattered at all. 3.  Color Burst Ice Rink, Now until Jan. 1., Merryweather, Columbia:  Oh, what fun it is to SKATE!  Learn more here

3.  A Budweiser Clydesdale Miracle on West Street - Dec. 27, Annapolis: The Inner West Street Association will be hosting the famous Budweiser Clydesdale Horses for a Miracle on West Street the day before the Military Bowl and parade. There will be a meet and greet with these magnificent horses as they are paraded down Inner West Street and around Church Circle. It's going to be a family fun day with music and activities for everyone. Enjoy the music of the Chris Sacks Band, the cute little fuzzy pups from the Annapolis Corgi Club, face painting, popcorn, beer truck and more. Learn more here

4.  New Year's Eve LIVE! - Dec. 31, Baltimore: Ring in 2023 in style at NYE Live! Baltimore presented by Miller Lite with live music, electric DJ performances, laser shows, dancing and of course, a massive midnight celebration featuring the "Times Square" Ball Drop on two 20' LED screens, confetti and balloon drops! Learn more here.

9.  Valentine's Chocolate-Dipping and Wine Sipping - Feb. 11, Robinson Nature Center, Columbia:  Try a new way to celebrate Valentine’s Day! 10.  Winter Lantern Festival - Feb 12, Lerner Town Square, Tysons, VA:  Roam and wander through a wonderland of light to discover Chinese myths, legends and zodiacs.
